Children are an important part of our church. Our children stay in the service for the first 20 minutes during worship, celebrations and notices. The purpose of these programmes are to support parents in the discipleship of their children and help kids feel part of the church through using biblical, relevant and child-focused curriculum that invites personal faith and growth.
The children regularly share with the rest of the church what they have been learning. Every Sunday service the young and those young at heart are invited to participate in a specially selected worship song with accompanying actions.
The following groups meet on Sundays during the Darfield service.
Crèche – for 0-2 years. A creche is offered for little ones. This is held in the foyer from partway through the service when the children leave for their programmes. Parents are also welcome to have their little ones stay with them in the service, in the space provided on the left-hand side of the auditorium, where we have a range of activities available to keep the little ones occupied.
Kids’ Church - for children aged 2-12. The goal is to teach and disciple children in faith. This is done through games, songs, memory verses, videos, craft activities.
The Glenroy Sunday services also have a children’s Sunday School programme that runs during the sermon.
